Dr Bindi Varghese is a professor at CHRIST University. A distinguished academic and researcher in Tourism and Leisure Management, she holds a Doctorate in Commerce from Bangalore University, Mphil from Pondicherry University, Post graduation in Tourism Management, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management. With over two decades of experience in higher education, Dr Bindi Varghese is known for her commitment to academic excellence and student-centered learning.

She is a passionate facilitator who fosters intellectual curiosity and lifelong learning, creating meaningful learning experiences that inspire students to achieve academic and professional success. Dr Bindi Varghese serves as the Associate Editor of ATNA Journal of Tourism Studies, a UGC peer-reviewed publication. Her research spans Ecological Studies, Destination Marketing and Management, Leadership Studies and Smart Tourism with publications in journals of international repute indexed by Scopus & Web of Science.

An accomplished scholar, she has authored one and edited three books in the areas of Tourism and she also holds the position of Honorary Director at the Kerala Development Society, New Delhi. Additionally, she is a member of the Indian Tourism Congress, contributing to the advancement of tourism education and research in India. Dr Bindi Varghese collaborates with academic and industry professionals to foster a dynamic research environment. She is currently the Associate Director of the Centre for Research.

Dr Bindi Varghese’s academic and research interests focus on Smart Tourism, Sustainable Tourism Development, Destination Marketing and Management, Tourism Resilience, and Community Well-being. Her work explores the integration of technology, sustainability, and stakeholder engagement to enhance destination competitiveness. She is also actively engaged in research on ecological conservation, responsible tourism, hospitality innovation, and tourism policy development.
